An Update on What’s Happening
1/- The new gate is finished, and I’ve changed the lock over to the new gate, the other lock in the middle of the chain is the gas companies lock. I’ve secured the old gate open and still fine tuning the solar lights. Let’s see how it goes.
2/- Archie and I met Zoe McKenzie, the Federal Member for Flinders yesterday who presented the club with a nice new Australian flag, I’ll get it up soon.
3/- We have programmed the 18th of October for our next Car Boot Sale.
4/- Also programmed the 15th of November for the John Bentley Scale Day.
5/- Now we are into Spring and hopefully the weather improves and more members flying, we want to remind members of some important safety rules of the club-
As per the MOP’s, all planes need to have Fail Safe activated, if you’re not sure how to set up, ask someone.
Carry out a range check before taking off and flying.
No arming or starting engines in the undercover area or on the car park side of the fence. This needs to be done in the pit area on the runway side of the fence.
No taxying into the pit area, all planes to stop at the end of the taxiways at the end of the longer grass area level with the rear of the pilot’s box.
Our new Safety Officer Ian Summers and the Committee will be monitoring this, remembering we are all safety officers for the club.

We hereby give notice that our AGM will be held at the Geoff Tuck field, 360 The Esplanade Crib Point on Sunday the 9th August 2026.
General meeting to start at 12:00pm followed by the AGM at 13:00.
Nomination forms can be downloaded here under "Docs & Pics" under "Committee" and need to be submitted to the Secretary by the 19th July 2026.
We will have a BBQ lunch and general flying on the day.
