Hi all
I hope that you are all aware that this Sunday, Oct 27th, is our day for Very Special Kids at our field, (weather permitting).
This organisation is state-wide and set up to support the families (this includes the Mums, Dads and siblings) of severely disabled kids or those living with life-threatening illnesses. Please check out their website, http://www.vsk.org.au/support-us/piggy-bank-appeal/.
As of last Monday we have 7 families registered which numbers 14 parents and 18 kids.
The idea is for our club to provide a venue for the member families to have a day out with a modest level of entertainment in a controlled environment that is away from the public stare.
We will provide a simple lunch thanks to Steve and Ian, have 2 sims operating and a couple of “buddy-box” system trainers for anyone willing to try the RC flying experience.
This is not envisaged to be a “display day” but is a “Family Fun Fly” so please come along and bring a plane/heli so that we can have a great social day for our club while reaching out to less fortunate members of our society.
The day will start around 11.00 am but will be very casual, so come when you can.
Thanks to all who have already volunteered their assistance and time, now we need flyers to fill the sky and promote our hobby to a wider community.
